Need to upgrade, but XP or Vista? - Guardian Unlimited (Shell Extensions)

I need to replace my old desktop PC, which runs Windows 2000. I’d prefer to find something economical with Windows XP Professional installed, but all the good deals seem to come with Vista, and that it is about to be overtaken by the new Windows
